LANTERN RIVET YJT 8031 — PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The Lantern Rivet YJT 8031 is a high-strength blind rivet fastener designed for single-sided installation, with a tail that splits open into four lantern-shaped petals. It consists of a rivet body with special folding grooves and a high-strength mandrel. During installation, the mandrel is pulled back, forcing the tail of the body to fold on the blind side into four lantern-shaped support legs, forming a large blind-side bearing surface. This allows it to clamp the joined parts firmly and is especially suitable for connecting soft, brittle, or uneven materials.

I. PRODUCT FEATURES

Four-Petal Blooming Formation: The tail of the body splits regularly along the longitudinal grooves and folds into four petal-shaped support legs, forming a blind-side bearing surface far exceeding the head diameter of ordinary rivets.

No Damage to Base Material: The enormous clamping force during blooming is distributed across the four petals, gripping the workpiece like claws, without cracking plastic, wood panels, or thin aluminum sheets due to excessive expansion force as ordinary rivets might.

Good Structural Compatibility: It can adapt to connections of different thicknesses or even multiple layers of unequal thickness; the petals self-adjust their folding angle to fill irregular gaps.

Various Material Combinations: Common YJT series may include aluminum alloy body (e.g., 5052/5056) + carbon steel mandrel, or carbon steel body + carbon steel mandrel, with surfaces usually zinc-plated for rust prevention.

II. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES

Uniformly Distributed Pull Force: The large contact area after blooming evenly distributes the clamping force to the back of the workpiece; for low-strength materials such as honeycomb panels, plastic parts, and FRP (fiberglass), it is one of the few blind rivet fasteners that can provide reliable connection.

High Efficiency of Single-Sided Installation: Used with a pneumatic rivet gun, single-sided operation quickly completes fixation without placing washers or lock nuts on the back of the workpiece, greatly reducing assembly time.

Vibration and Tensile Resistance, Hard to Pull Out: The mechanical locking action formed by the four petals provides extremely strong pull-out resistance, far superior to ordinary open rivets, maintaining structural stability under high-frequency vibration.

Good Blind-Hole Adaptability: For blind holes with uneven or obstructed backs, the petals self-locate the stress points without relying on precise bottom hole depth and shape.

III. APPLICATION SCOPE

Automotive and Rail Transit: Fixation of automotive interior headliners, door panels, carpet strips, acoustic cotton, seat rail trim panels; riveting of bus/high-speed rail interior parts onto aluminum alloy frames.

Containers and Packaging Boxes: Fixation of corners and latches of wooden boxes, iron sheet boxes, plastic totes; especially suitable for scenarios requiring firm grip on the back of soft substrates like wood and plastic.

Ventilation and Air Conditioning: Duct flange connections, silencer plenum boxes, air conditioner fan housings, and damper connections; highly effective for soft connection plates of ducts and insulation layer fixation.

Furniture and Hardware: Assembly of office chair bases, drawer slides, combination shelving, skis, surfboards, and other sports equipment; excellent performance in mixed plastic and metal structures.

Procurement Questions

Common procurement questions about specification, material, finish and delivery.

Please confirm the application position, load, connection thickness and working environment first, then match diameter, length, thread pitch, material, strength grade, surface finish and applicable standard. Drawings, photos or old samples help us quote more accurately.

Hot-dip galvanizing and Dacromet are common choices for outdoor applications. For humid, coastal or chemical environments, stainless steel 304/316 or higher corrosion-resistant solutions may be better.

Please provide drawings or 3D files, material, dimensions, tolerance, grade, surface treatment, packing method and quantity. If drawings are not ready, samples or installation photos can also be reviewed.

Bolts and nuts should match nominal diameter, thread pitch, thread type, standard and strength grade. High-strength connections should also use suitable washers and anti-loosening solutions.

Application Scenarios

Choose material, grade and surface treatment based on real working conditions.

Construction

Steel structures, curtain walls, embedded parts and site assembly.

Machinery

Equipment assembly, maintenance parts and frame fixing.

Solar Mounting

Outdoor brackets, corrosion resistance and weather exposure.
