Product Overview
The hexalobular socket pan head screw, also known as a Torx pan head screw, is manufactured to GB/T 2672-2017. Its pan (button) head has a larger bearing diameter than a cylindrical head, giving a wider bearing area so that thin sheets and plastic parts are less likely to be crushed. The drive is a hexalobular (six-lobe / Torx) socket with rounded load flanks that spread the tightening torque evenly, reduce cam-out and make the screw well suited to automated assembly lines.
1. Product Features
- Pan (button) head with a large bearing surface, suitable for clamping thin sheets, plastic parts and surfaces that must not be marked.
- Hexalobular (Torx) socket drive: six rounded lobes transmit torque evenly, resist cam-out and protect the recess.
- Thread sizes from M2 to M10, covering a wide range of applications.
- Available in carbon steel and stainless steel, selected according to environment and strength requirements.
- Surface finishes can be chosen to match different corrosion requirements.
2. Product Advantages
- Compared with a cross recess or a plain hex socket, the hexalobular recess together with a dedicated Torx driver allows higher tightening torque and reduces stripping and rejects during assembly.
- The pan head distributes clamping pressure more evenly, reducing indentation and deformation of the clamped part.
- High degree of standardisation: the GB/T 2672 dimensional system is complete, which simplifies export matching and second sourcing.
- Material and surface finish can be customised to balance strength, corrosion resistance and cost.
3. Application Scope
- Assembly of small structural parts in electronics, instruments and office equipment.
- Fastening of furniture, hardware products and sheet-metal parts.
- Stainless steel versions suit damp or mildly corrosive environments, as well as food and medical equipment.
- Automated assembly lines and robotic tightening stations that require high recess fit accuracy.
