SELF-DRILLING SCREW — PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Self-drilling screws, also known as self-drilling tapping screws, drill-tail screws, or SDS fasteners, are high-efficiency fasteners that combine drilling, tapping, and fastening in a single operation. The tail is designed with a drill-point structure similar to a twist drill bit, allowing direct drilling through metal sheets, steel structures, or hard materials without the need for pre-drilling or tapping. Powered by electric tools, the screw completes drilling, thread forming, and fastening in one step, significantly reducing construction time and lowering labor costs. These fasteners are widely used in steel structures, colored steel roofing, light steel framing, metal roofing systems, sheet metal fabrication, home appliance manufacturing, and more.
I. PRODUCT FEATURES
Self-drilling and self-tapping — one step, done right:
The drill-point tip requires no auxiliary machining; it can drill directly through metal sheets or hard materials and form mating threads in the hole simultaneously, achieving “one drill, one fix.”

Compared with traditional workflows of pre-drilling followed by fastening, self-drilling screws combine drilling, tapping, and fastening into a single operation, maximizing time savings and improving project efficiency.

Self-drilling screws offer superior pull-out resistance and clamp load retention compared with standard screws. Once fastened, the joint provides strong clamping force with high preload, remaining securely fastened over extended use.
Versatile materials and optional corrosion resistance:
Available primarily in carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steel products are typically finished with zinc plating, colored zinc, Dacromet, or blue-white zinc coatings. Stainless steel options (such as SUS410, SUS304) achieve high hardness and excellent corrosion resistance after heat treatment, making them suitable for outdoor and humid environments.

Carbon steel products treated with colored zinc, blue-white zinc, Dacromet, or other coatings meet varying corrosion resistance requirements. Common diameter sizes include Φ4.2, Φ4.8, Φ5.5, and Φ6.3mm; lengths are customizable upon request.
