MJ THREAD TITANIUM ALLOY TWELVE-POINT FLANGE BOLT — PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

The MJ thread titanium alloy twelve-point flange bolt, manufactured to DIN 65438-1993, is a high-strength fastener specifically designed for aerospace and high-performance applications. Made from Ti-6Al-4V (TC4) titanium alloy and featuring an MJ reinforced thread form and twelve-point flange head design, this bolt combines lightweight construction, high fatigue strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. It must be used in combination with matching twelve-point flange lock nuts of the same standard, and can operate reliably at temperatures up to 315°C, primarily serving aircraft structural connections where high loads, high vibration, and strict weight reduction are required.

I. PRODUCT FEATURES

MJ REINFORCED THREAD FORM: The MJ thread features an enlarged root radius, significantly reducing stress concentration and fundamentally improving the fatigue life of the threaded section — the defining characteristic that distinguishes it from standard metric threads.

TWELVE-POINT FLANGE HEAD DESIGN: The head provides 12 torque flats, allowing wrench access with just 30° of swing in confined spaces for rapid fastening, while achieving extremely high torque transmission. The integrated flange face delivers uniform bearing pressure, eliminating the need for a separate washer.

Ti-6Al-4V TITANIUM ALLOY MATERIAL: Offers high tensile strength of approximately 1100 MPa with a density only about 60% that of steel, delivering an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. It is naturally corrosion-resistant and non-magnetic.

STRICT SURFACE LUBRICATION CONTROL: To overcome titanium’s tendency toward galling, bolt surfaces are typically coated with molybdenum disulfide dry-film lubricant, cetyl alcohol, or aluminum plating to stabilize friction coefficients and ensure consistent preload.
