Turnbuckle——Product Introduction
The turnbuckle (also called turnbuckle screw, wire tensioner or rigging screw) is a metal connecting component that uses left-hand and right-hand threads to adjust the connection length. It consists of an adjusting rod with left-hand and right-hand threads, nuts and tie rods. By rotating the adjusting rod, the tie rods at both ends extend or retract simultaneously, thereby tightening or loosening the wire rope and adjusting tension. According to structural type, it is divided into OO type (rings at both ends, for applications not frequently disassembled), CC type (hooks at both ends, for applications frequently disassembled) and CO type (hook at one end and ring at the other, for applications where one end is frequently disassembled).
1. Product Features
• Left-hand and right-hand thread adjustment structure: The two ends of the adjusting rod have left-hand and right-hand internal threads respectively. When the rod body is rotated, the tie rods at both ends extend or retract synchronously, achieving stepless length adjustment.
• Various end types: The ends can be made into rings (O type), hooks (C type) or combined forms, adapting to different connection needs.
• Complete specification series: Common thread specifications range from M6 to M32 and above, with working loads covering from hundreds of kilograms to several tons.
• Various materials and surface treatments: Commonly carbon steel (Q235B, 45 steel, 40Cr, etc.) and stainless steel; surfaces can be electro-galvanized or hot-dip galvanized to enhance rust resistance.
• Optional anti-theft and anti-loosening structure: Some models are equipped with special anti-theft and anti-loosening bolts that require a matching socket to unscrew, suitable for power lines and other applications with high anti-theft requirements.
2. Product Advantages
• Convenient tension adjustment: The tension of the wire rope can be precisely controlled by rotating the adjusting rod, without disassembling or replacing parts, and operation is simple.
• Reliable connection: Forged turnbuckles have high strength and are suitable for lifting, cargo binding and reinforcement and other high-load applications; ordinary carbon steel turnbuckles are suitable for static fixing scenarios such as garden wind protection and agricultural greenhouses.
• Strong adaptability: Models can be selected according to the specifications of wire rope or tie rod, and non-standard specifications can also be customized.
• Cost-effective: Simple structure, easy processing, low price for ordinary carbon steel versions, and strong practicality.
3. Scope of Application
• Power and communication lines: Positioning devices for high-voltage tower tie rods and tension adjustment for power line guy wires are the most typical application scenarios for turnbuckles.
• Construction and steel structures: Steel structure cable-rod connections, binding and fixing during component transportation, and tension adjustment during installation and alignment.
• Logistics and transportation: Cargo binding and reinforcement, sling connections, cargo fixing, etc.
• Agriculture and gardening: Static binding scenarios such as windproof guy wires for agricultural greenhouses and support fixing for garden trees.
• General rigging connections: Tightening of wire ropes, tensioning of chains and various connection applications requiring length adjustment.
