Conical Washer — Product Introduction
Conical washers are manufactured in accordance with GB/T 850—1988. One side is a concave conical surface, and the other side is flat. They are usually used together with spherical washers (GB/T 849—1988). Through the matching of the concave conical surface with the convex spherical surface of the spherical washer, they can automatically adjust the angular deviation between the bolt, nut and the supporting surface, ensuring uniform load distribution in the connection and avoiding bolt bending or fracture caused by eccentric loads. They are self-aligning support washers.
1. Product Features
• Standard structure: Dimensions conform to GB/T 850—1988, used together with spherical washers, with good interchangeability.
• Conical surface design: One side is a concave conical surface, which matches the convex spherical surface of the spherical washer to form an adjustable self-aligning movable support structure.
• Relatively high hardness: Usually quenched and tempered, with relatively high surface hardness, good wear resistance and pressure resistance.
• Flat surface: The flat side contacts the supporting surface; the surface is smooth, reducing friction and scratches.
• Simple structure: Formed by stamping or turning as a whole, with no complex structure, easy to install.
2. Product Advantages
• Self-aligning: Compensates for non-perpendicularity between the supporting surface and the bolt axis, eliminating eccentric loads.
• Uniform load distribution: Even on inclined, uneven or angularly deviated surfaces, it can still transmit loads uniformly.
• Protects bolts: Reduces additional bending stress on bolts, lowers the risk of fatigue fracture, and extends the service life of connected parts.
• Improved reliability: Maintains stable connections under complex conditions such as vibration and impact, preventing loosening.
• Easy installation: Self-aligning is achieved simply by using it with a spherical washer, without complex adjustment or special tools.
3. Scope of Application
Conical washers are widely used in bolted connections requiring self-aligning, including:
• General machinery: Base and flange connections of machine tools, reducers, motors, pumps, etc.
• Steel structures: Bolted connections with angular deviation in bridges, building steel structures, towers, etc.
• Construction machinery: Complex load-bearing parts of excavators, loaders, lifting equipment, etc.
• Mining and metallurgical equipment: Crushers, vibrating screens, rolling mills and other applications with high vibration and easy eccentric loading.
• Automotive and railway vehicles: Suspension, steering, frame connections, etc.
• Power equipment: Transformers, switchgear, busbar connections, etc.
