Product Overview
The style 1 hexagon nut with fine pitch thread is manufactured to GB/T 6171-2016. The nut is hexagonal and tightened with a wrench or socket, and is used together with fine pitch bolts or studs. A fine pitch thread has a smaller pitch than a coarse thread, giving a smaller helix angle and better self-locking behaviour, so it resists loosening under vibration. At the same nominal diameter the minor diameter is larger, giving higher load capacity. It is widely used in automotive, machinery, hydraulic and precision equipment. The style 1 nut is about 0.8D high and is the most general-purpose hexagon nut.
1. Product Features
- Style 1 hexagon nut, about 0.8D high: general purpose with good interchangeability.
- Fine pitch thread (smaller pitch than coarse): better self-locking and vibration resistance.
- Larger minor diameter for the same nominal size, giving higher load capacity.
- Width across flats controlled to the standard to match standard wrenches and sockets.
- Available in carbon steel and stainless steel to suit the service environment and strength requirement.
2. Product Advantages
- Fine pitch mating allows finer preload adjustment on thin-walled parts and precision equipment.
- Better vibration resistance than coarse pitch nuts, suitable for automotive and construction machinery.
- High degree of standardisation: the GB/T 6171 dimensional system is complete, which simplifies export matching and second sourcing.
- Material and surface finish can be customised to balance strength, corrosion resistance and cost.
3. Application Scope
- Fastening in automotive, motorcycle and construction machinery.
- Threaded connections in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and precision machinery.
- Machine tools, moulds and fixtures that need fine preload control.
- Stainless steel versions suit damp or mildly corrosive environments such as chemical, food and medical equipment.
