Product Introduction — Hexagon Nut Type 2
Hexagon Nut Type 2 (GB/T 6175-2016) is a thickened hexagon nut. Compared with Type 1 hexagon nut, it has greater nut height and stronger load-bearing capacity, and is mainly used for high-strength bolt connections. This standard specifies Type 2 hexagon nuts with thread specifications M5 to M36 and property classes of grade 9, grade 10, and grade 12. The product material is generally selected from medium carbon steel or alloy steel, such as 45 steel, 40Cr, 35CrMo, 42CrMo, etc., and must undergo quenching and tempering treatment to meet high-strength mechanical performance requirements. Hexagon Nut Type 2 is widely used in metal structure connections that need to withstand large preloads and alternating loads.
One Product Features
Thickened design: The nut height is greater than that of Type 1 hexagon nut, with a longer thread engagement length and higher load-bearing capacity.
High strength grade: Property classes cover grade 9, grade 10, and grade 12, meeting high-strength connection requirements.
Excellent material: Made of medium carbon steel or alloy steel, undergoes quenching and tempering treatment, with high hardness and strength.
High thread precision: Internal thread tolerance is generally 6H, matches well with high-strength bolts.
Optional surface treatment: Blackening, phosphating, zinc plating, Dacromet and other surface treatments can be provided to improve corrosion resistance.
Unified standard: Complies with GB/T 6175-2016, with clear dimensional and performance requirements and good interchangeability.
Two Product Advantages
Strong load-bearing capacity: The thickened structure and high-strength material enable it to withstand greater axial loads and preloads.
Reliable connection: Used together with high-strength bolts, it is not prone to thread stripping or deformation, ensuring the stability and safety of the connection pair.
Good fatigue resistance: The structure is uniform after heat treatment, suitable for working conditions involving vibration and alternating loads.
Better anti-loosening effect: Combined with high-strength bolts and appropriate preload, it can effectively reduce the risk of loosening.
Wide application range: Can replace some Type 1 nuts in applications with high connection strength requirements.
High cost performance: While ensuring high-strength performance, the cost is lower than some stainless steel or special alloy nuts.
Three Applications
Steel structure engineering: Nodes in building steel structures, bridges, towers, etc. that require high-strength bolt connections.
Mechanical equipment: Critical connection points in heavy machinery, construction machinery, mining equipment, pressure vessels, etc.
Automotive manufacturing: High-load connections such as commercial vehicle chassis, frames, engine brackets.
Rail transit: Components in railway vehicles, rail fastening systems, etc. that require highly reliable connections.
Power and communication: Metal structures bearing large loads such as steel towers, substation equipment, and large brackets.
Other high-strength connection applications: Any nut that needs to be used together with grade 8.8 and above high-strength bolts can choose Hexagon Nut Type 2.
