Product Introduction — Cage Nut

The cage nut YJT 3015 (also known as spring nut, quick-install nut, or clip nut) is a fastener designed for rapid installation on thin panels. It typically consists of a nut body and a spring steel clip (cage-shaped). The clip snaps into pre-formed square or round holes in the panel to form a reliable threaded connection. The nut body is commonly made of carbon steel (such as Q235, 08F, SPCC) or stainless steel (such as SUS304), while the clip is usually made of spring steel (such as 65Mn), with surface treatments generally including zinc plating, nickel plating, or blackening. This model is suitable for thin panel applications requiring quick installation, disassembly, and where welding or tapping is inconvenient.

One Product Features

Cage-mounting structure: No welding, riveting, or tapping required; simply snaps into pre-drilled holes for fixation.

Floating adjustment capability: There is some play between the nut body and the clip, which can compensate for hole position deviations and reduce assembly precision requirements.

Anti-rotation design: The clip engages with square holes, effectively preventing the nut from rotating when the bolt is tightened.

Rational material pairing: The nut body provides thread strength, while the spring steel clip ensures elastic clamping force, resulting in high overall reliability.

Diverse surface treatments: Common options include zinc plating, nickel plating, and blackening to meet different corrosion resistance and appearance requirements.

Strong specification adaptability: Compatible with different panel thicknesses and hole diameters; common thread specifications include M3, M4, M5, M6, etc.

Two Product Advantages

High installation efficiency: Snaps in and is ready to use, significantly saving assembly time and suitable for batch production.

Easy removal and replacement: Damaged nuts or clips can be directly replaced, making maintenance convenient and reducing repair costs.

Non-damaging to thin panels: Avoids problems such as welding deformation or burn-through, keeping the workpiece surface clean and attractive.

Reliable connection: The clip holds firmly and is not easy to loosen; combined with bolt tightening, it offers excellent tensile and torque resistance.

Low overall cost: Eliminates welding equipment and tapping processes, reducing labor and energy consumption — economical and practical.

Wide scope of application: The same model can be universally used for various panel thicknesses and hole types, reducing inventory variety.

Three Applications

Enclosures and cabinets: Server racks, network cabinets, distribution cabinets, control cabinets, and other sheet metal components.

Electronic equipment: Communication equipment housings, instrument casings, power supply chassis, etc.

Automotive industry: Body panels, interior components, electrical boxes, and other thin-plate connection points.

Mechanical equipment: Equipment guards, operating panels, brackets, and other locations requiring removable threaded connections.

Other thin-plate applications: Any metal thin-plate structure where welding or tapping is impractical but frequent removal and maintenance are required can use cage nut YJT 3015.

Procurement Questions

Common procurement questions about specification, material, finish and delivery.

Please confirm the application position, load, connection thickness and working environment first, then match diameter, length, thread pitch, material, strength grade, surface finish and applicable standard. Drawings, photos or old samples help us quote more accurately.

Hot-dip galvanizing and Dacromet are common choices for outdoor applications. For humid, coastal or chemical environments, stainless steel 304/316 or higher corrosion-resistant solutions may be better.

Please provide drawings or 3D files, material, dimensions, tolerance, grade, surface treatment, packing method and quantity. If drawings are not ready, samples or installation photos can also be reviewed.

Bolts and nuts should match nominal diameter, thread pitch, thread type, standard and strength grade. High-strength connections should also use suitable washers and anti-loosening solutions.

Application Scenarios

Choose material, grade and surface treatment based on real working conditions.

Construction

Steel structures, curtain walls, embedded parts and site assembly.

Machinery

Equipment assembly, maintenance parts and frame fixing.

Solar Mounting

Outdoor brackets, corrosion resistance and weather exposure.
